When you reach perimenopause, your body reduces the number of feminine hormones it produces. This can cause intense physical discomfort and affect your quality of life. With timely hormone therapy, you can continue to lead a life of wellbeing and vitality for years to come.

At Genesis Lifestyle Medicine, we are a premier med spa located in Greenville, South Carolina. We have extensive experience in women's hormone replacement therapy, and you can trust our qualified staff to help you regain the life you deserve. Reach out to us today for a consultation.

What hormones are necessary for women?

Women have two very important hormones that are instrumental to their health. These are estrogen and progesterone. In addition to these, women have testosterone, human chorionic gonadotrophin hormones, follicle-stimulating hormones, and luteinizing hormones, which enable reproduction in women and also preserve their overall health and wellbeing.

Women’s hormone therapy at our Greenville med spa

At Genesis Lifestyle Medicine, our hormone experts start by reviewing your medical history. We then identify your exact hormone replacement requirements and determine the number of injections or pellets you need and the treatments' frequency and duration. We also determine the exact mixture of the hormones you require.

Then, on the day of the therapy, you are asked to lie down on the treatment bed in our clinic. We take a fresh syringe and a vial of the hormones and inject the hormones into the buttocks' top portion or on the hips. If needed, we will replace the injections with pellets which can be easily inserted into the buttocks or the hip region through a tiny incision. These pellets are medical-grade and body-safe and dissolve into your blood stream over a few weeks’ time. They contain around 100 milligrams of the hormones each.

Once the treatment is complete, you can resume your normal activity. The treatment site may feel sore and tender. But these symptoms will last only for a few hours. Remember not to stretch the treatment site too much for about 24-48 hours after the treatment. This ensures your incision (if any) heals properly.

The women's hormone therapy is also great for people who have undergone or are currently undergoing gender confirmation treatments. If you'd like to speak to our experts about your eligibility for the procedure, please visit our Greenville, South Carolina clinic.
