PRP and PRF both concentrate naturally occurring components from your blood for placement beneath the eyes. The difference is how the blood is processed, which affects the consistency of the preparation and how its components are released within the under-eye area.
PRP Under-Eye Treatment
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is created by centrifuging your blood to concentrate platelets within liquid plasma. These platelets contain naturally occurring growth factors involved in normal cellular processes. Once injected beneath the eyes, the fluid preparation distributes these concentrated blood-derived components throughout targeted areas, gradually improving the appearance of under-eye texture, fine lines, hollows, and dark circles.
PRF Under-Eye Treatment
Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is processed more slowly and forms a fibrin matrix containing platelets and other naturally occurring blood components. This matrix allows its components to be released more gradually than with liquid PRP. That slower-release structure helps provide sustained support within the under-eye area, with changes in skin quality and appearance developing progressively over time.
