A Vampire Facial is a minimally invasive aesthetic treatment that combines microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) prepared from a sample of your own blood. Microneedling creates tiny channels across the skin, after which concentrated PRP is applied to the treatment area. This combination helps refresh your complexion and address concerns like fine lines, acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven tone, discoloration, dullness, and other visible signs of aging.
A Vampire Facial combines two complementary techniques: microneedling and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Microneedling prepares the skin with microscopic channels, whereas PRP supplies concentrated components from your own blood directly to the treated surface.
Microneedling passes fine, sterile needles across your skin to create thousands of controlled microscopic channels. These tiny injuries trigger the skin’s normal wound-healing response, a process associated with collagen and elastin production and cellular turnover. The channels also provide pathways through the skin’s protective outer barrier, allowing the PRP applied afterward to reach beyond the surface more effectively.
PRP is prepared by spinning a small sample of your blood in a centrifuge to concentrate platelets within the plasma. Platelets contain naturally occurring growth factors involved in normal cellular processes and tissue repair. When PRP is applied after microneedling, it can enter the newly created microchannels, placing these concentrated blood-derived components directly within the areas being treated for skin rejuvenation.
Downtime is generally minimal. Your skin may look red or feel warm, sensitive, or mildly swollen for 24 to 48 hours after treatment, similar to a mild sunburn. These side effects should gradually settle. Your experience may vary based on your skin and the intensity of your treatment.
Your recommended number of treatments depends on your skin, concerns, and aesthetic goals. Our providers may recommend an initial series of three to four Vampire Facials. Your treatments may be spaced apart to give your skin time between sessions. After completing your initial series, maintenance treatments may be considered every six to 12 months.
