The four phases of Ideal Protein
The Ideal Protein diet has four phases. The first two stages of the four-phase Ideal Protein program focus on setting weight loss goals and working towards those goals. The final two steps center on stabilizing and maintaining a healthy weight forever.
Phase 1
The emphasis is solely on weight loss in this phase, and you will remain in this phase till you have lost at least 80% of your excess weight. Modifying your eating habits begins here as you will replace your meals with three Ideal Protein food products per day. You will also need to combine these products with at least 4 cups of vegetables and about 5 to 7 ounces of lean animal protein.
Phase 2
When you have already lost a huge chunk of excess weight, the rate of weight loss sometimes slows down. To continue losing weight, you will replace either one of your lunch or dinner packets with lean meat or fish. You will remain in Phase 2 till you have achieved your ideal body weight.
Phase 3
Developing healthy eating habits is vital to maintaining your ideal weight life long. Phase 3 introduces whole grains and dairy products into your normal diet.
Phase 4
The last phase focuses on education to help you inculcate healthy lifestyle choices to maintain your weight and live life to the fullest. You will learn about how the body burns fat and the best foods for healthy weight management. You will also learn about how to combine protein, carbohydrates, and fats in your meals and the best time to eat them.
